Great article, thank you Graham.

If I may be so picky and annoying, I might suggest (edits in CAPS) "Advertising and the popular culture addressed (OR PERHAPS ENGENDERED) a woman’s SHORT TERM needs and desires, ignoring HER LONG TERM ONES." I might argue one reason young women are so unhappy is related to the confusing messages they get from their families and society. I might also argue women's long term needs and desires actually match up pretty well with those of society.

Thanks. I'm looking at giving it a rework. Currently reading Konner, Melvin. Women After All: Sex, Evolution, and the End of Male Supremacy (p. ii). W. W. Norton & Company. Kindle Edition. Very erudite. Lots I don't agree with, but well researched. Following Naomi Wolf Vigilant Fox among many others, gathering insights and opinions to take it further.

I will look into it, thank you. An (apparently) similar thesis - that of the need to eliminate males for a better world - was voiced by Richard Wrangham (a primatologist specializing in chimpanzees who I understand worked with Jane Goodall) while being interviewed by Lex Fridman (a worthwhile watch, by the way). Bringing this idea to reality may not be feasible, as he readily admits (much like extreme libertarianism) as a male dominated society next door would just run it over.

On another note and interestingly enough, so far the two sources I have seen for this idea are males.

There seem to be several Daily Telegraphs - Australia and UK for two. But, sure, nothing to lose. Let's do it.
