"In the past few days, there have been two reported incidents of the use of chemical weapons by Russia in the War in Ukraine, one is public information, and the other conveyed to me privately. "

Bob is a journalist. He used the word "reported." Considering the evidence that Russia has used outlawed thermobaric weapons, torture, rape and such, and that there was a photo of the chemical weapon, it is credible. He is right to report it. We will have to wait to see if it is part of a pattern.

Is the mentality of Russians who support Putin, who uses the special police and military to rule, even if not all of them, still medieval or ancient?

It looks just like Myanmar today, but the Myanmar people who risk their lives to resist may be closer to modern people.

Since the Russian mainstream is Caucasian, do you think it would be possible to get along with Western Europe to some extent? Merkel may have thought so.

Is Putin a personality disorder? Desire to dominate? Lust for power? Greed for money?

I don't know why?

Putin is Russian. They are not all like him, but he is stereotypical. Two best books I have read are reviewed on this blog. Give you an idea of how the tsars and commissars were.

I've been living in a small island nation, mostly homogenous, densely populated.

On top of that, I spent my time as an engineer, so it's difficult for me to understand the history of other countries, but I'll try.

I'll read your reviews several times.

I thank you.

The woke culture wants us to forget that peoples are different. They are. I posted a review of Geert Hofstedt's "Cultures and Organizations" in February.

It is difficult at times to understand each other. My 25 year previous marriage was to a half-Japanese woman. Her ethos was "duty." Do what is expected of you. My German ethos is more from Kant. Does it make sense?

Caucasian, yes but Slavic. Russian culture quiet different from other western nations, perhaps more rooted in their lands. The East of Russia is quite different from the West, but Russia is ruled by their West. Putin, to me, is a creature of total power and control. I suspect he has great fears of his end.
