Orban has lost his mind. Trying to cater to Russia may be fine in the short run to protect his supplier but is bad long term for his neighbors.
Orban has had a nose full of the EU. This reaction is unfortunate but not surprising. If I had to choose between Russia and having my country flooded by unwanted immigrants I might do the same.

While we might appreciate his concerns, he might do better by not shoving it in the EU's face. But I'm sure he understands his people better than I.
