The editorial page of the New York Times reflects the politics of the "progressive" wing of the Democratic Party - "woke" and stupid. I do not believe that it reflects the politics of the Biden Administration, which is pretty anti-Russian and anti-CCP/PRC. They're not stupid. Tucker Carlson is also an appeaser, he's scared sh*tless of Vladimir Vladimirovich's threats of nuclear war, which will continue as long as Putin thinks they can be used to scare people into giving him what he wants. What a lot of people, including Carlson and some European leaders, don't know (apparently) is that Putin has no intention of stopping at the Western border of Ukraine, he wants the former Soviet Bloc countries, then all of Western Europe, then the United Kingdom - and if he gets that, then he may just toss nukes at the US just for sh*ts and grins.

Foreign Affairs is probably a better indicator of what US foreign policy is and will be - and I don't see a lot of Neville Chamberlain "Peace In Our Time" appeasement in any of these articles: https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/ukraine/2022-04-01/francis-fukuyama-liberalism-country and https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/ukraine/2022-04-06/ukraine-russia-war-return-conquest and https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/ukraine/2022-05-11/america-embrace-ukraine-victory-goal ...

I have the impression that Carlson and his ilk are wobbly about Ukraine and soft on Putin because Biden is supportive of Ukraine. It's an unfortunate instinct to see the enemy of my enemy as my friend.

If that's the case, then that's just utter stupidity on Carlson's part...

I agree. Unfortunately, it is something I have noticed, a lot of ambivalence about Ukraine from the 'right' because supporting Ukraine puts them alongside Biden. I imagine that if Trump were President and supporting Ukraine, the 'left' would be uncomfortable about supporting Ukraine. Human nature is a funny business.
