Really unpleasant news coming out from the liberated areas North West of Kyiv. Images of large numbers of murdered civilians in Bucha. Hard to understand why the Russians would do this. Is it a policy of terror? Or is it stupid, ill disciplined troops?

That reduces the possibility of any sort of ceasefire to zero, if civilian populations are being killed off in Einsatzgruppen style. If I were a civilian, I'd kill as many Russians as I could, peace deal or no peace deal, since they're an existential threat. This has effectively added the entire civilian population to combatant status, like it or not.

I have been wondering just how much guerilla war might take off. There is a long history of guerilla warfare in Ukraine, I've actually watched Soviet films eulogising it.

Progress stalled it seems in forcing Putin out. One wonders how deep Russian supplies go. A lot of ordinance expended to gain little.
