Why I read and what I have learned – this time about viruses. Opinions of the elite – that's you

Subscriber Rodster asked me to say more about what and why I read. Here's a start. Today the Daily Exposé has this article entitled " “Virology is a Fraudulent Pseudoscience and is a Dying Field” according to Biomedical Scientist."
This goes to the question of whether viruses are real. It has a long history. Forty years ago, eminent scientist Peter Duesberg ran afoul of Anthony Fauci when he claimed that there was no AIDS virus. Read my review of Inventing the AIDS virus. Journalist Celia Farber addressed the question in Serious Adverse Events. The vehemence with which they were shut down leads me to believe they were onto something.
It has long been claimed that scientists never really isolated a polio virus even as they developed vaccines. The same for measles. There is a longstanding camp of dissidents who claim that there is no Covid virus. On the other hand, if not, what does the spike protein belong to? Of what are all these mutants we read about?
Viruses, if they exist, have the ability to lay dormant, not bothering their host for a long time. I recently read here that in 1969 a group of healthy men isolated overwinter on Adelaide Island in Antarctica spontaneously caught colds after seventeen weeks. The men's health had been thoroughly analyzed before they left. They could not have been ill without symptoms for that period of time. Yet, six of the twelve came down with the cold. This observation is not consistent with the thesis that viral diseases spread like bacterial ones, and in particular, that there can be an effective test to identify carriers.
My extensive reading prepares me to knowledgeably admit that the evidence is not clearcut either way. I should keep an open mind. Government and the medical establishment (controlled by Anthony Fauci et. al.) are famous for funding research into "the cause of" and "the cure for" things like cancer. Virus theories get the richest funding.
I think it was Richard Nixon who promised that science would find the virus responsible for cancer. They don't have a cure for cancer, and the vaccines against viral diseases, including polio and measles but especially HPV, RSV, Covid and the flu, are often ineffective and appear dangerous. Though respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV has been known for decades, we only started to hear about it (and its dangers) when Big Pharma had a vaccine in place against us. Kind of like the emergence of HPV a couple of decades ago.
If these are not real viruses, then the vaccine makers are barking up a tree. Though we all know by now how Big Pharma fakes clinical trials (see video review of Turtles All the Way Down , or written here), I believe that however exaggerated there is some "there" there. What we hoi polloi are totally unable to assess is the risk/reward ratio of any vaccine. Anthony Fauci's guys "are the science," in the sense that they are the ones with the money and expertise needed to find out for sure. Unfortunately, they have a huge pecuniary incentive to tell us risk is huge and risks, minimal. Naysayers like Vernon Coleman, Celia Farber, Jessica Rose and Andy Wakefield, brilliant as they may be, are simply underfunded.
The human animal does not deal well with ambiguity and uncertainty. In my days with IBM we called it FUD – fear, uncertainty and doubt. As the dominant computer maker we did our best to sow FUD about our competitors' products, especially minicomputers, among our clients. Since most of them were risk-averse civil servants, it worked well.
Until it didn’t – sometime in the early '70s – when it became clear that HP, Sun, Wang and others clearly offered better price-performance and were worth the risk. IBM was too ethical of a company to buy congressmen. Those who did started winning all the government contracts. IBM played the game in other ways – I left when they gave diversity a strong embrace – but they didn't slosh enough money around in Washington. Back to the topic at hand, a strong belief in viruses and vaccines can be very beneficial to one's research funding.
We learned enough about the way the Covid vaccines were produced – in record time, cutting many corners – to be skeptical. We observe that mankind did an adequate job of surviving before there were any vaccines. We got along, and the incidence of autism, autoimmune diseases, Alzheimer's, allergies and a slew of other afflictions were much lower. I'll keep my eyes open, but for now the conservative approach of refusing them all and maintaining my bodily integrity seems to be the best bet. Others will differ. Please, if nothing else, allow me the freedom to disagree.
On a related topic, Rasmussen did a poll comparing the opinions of the elite with that of the hoi polloi. They defined elite by (1) postgrad education, (2) zip code, (3) income > 150k. Though I would have comfortably qualified in my Washington D.C. days, I was never among them. Or, I should say to many of readers, among you.
It is an indictment, that you who have the credentials and the proven ability to read the kind of stuff I do, do not do so. If you did you would either (1) refute me or (2) change your minds. The fact that you do neither may be dangerous to you, if the vaccine nay-sayers are right. It is dangerous to your kind, inasmuch as your beliefs are antithetical to having grandchildren. And it is dangerous to the country, because countries do best when they are led by the best and brightest acting on behalf of everybody, not just themselves. Even though, per the survey, 84% of you approve of Biden's job performance, I cannot imagine any of you seriously contending that he represents the best and brightest.
I’ll put an interesting two and two together here. In a Ron Unz piece I cited a couple of days back, he claimed that after taking ability into account - SATs and such - Jews are as much as 1000% over represented in Ivy League universities. They are similarly disproportionately represented among top earners and in zip codes such as 20007 and 20816 where I used to live. Just who makes up the Biden-loving elite Rasmussen is talking about?
To answer Rodster, I read because there is a huge and dangerous gap between what most of our leaders, the elites, believe and what the serious researchers in most fields are writing. Going along with the elites would be dangerous to my health and, taking my first family as evidence, the end of my genome. I ain't doin’ it.
That's the news from Lake WeBeGone, where the good-looking woman ventured for the first time to the city limits by car. She is learning quickly, but it recalls to me how much a new driver has to learn. It takes intelligence and learning. I have written about a 2003 trip to a country in which auto accidents were endemic. Just for fun, on the way to the city I scanned the highway for an undented car. Though the road was busy, it took a couple of miles. Naming the country would arouse the demons of political correctness, so I won't. Simply, I am glad to be married to a woman with the wits to become a competent driver.
This is a key issue; what is virology? I used to accept it hook line and sinker (except the polio crap) but given that Fauci lies about absolutely everything, I'm starting to think that viruses may not exist. At some level it may be a semantics question, since no one claims that viruses are "alive." Self-replicating proteins exist that are not viruses. Amino acids are found in outer space. https://english.kyodonews.net/news/2022/06/9a7dbced6c3a-amino-acids-found-in-asteroid-samples-collected-by-hayabusa2-probe.html
The key question is whether protein fragments "invade" our cells, replicate by the trillions and cause diseases like AIDS, measles, mumps, chicken pox, HPV, herpes, common colds, flus, and of course Covid. Everything that mainstream "virologists" have said about these questions is total garbage. The vilification of Wakefield and the history of vaccines in "Turtles all the Way Down" proves that something is very rotten at the heart of virology. I have yet to see anything scientifically valid about the infectivity, transmissibility, lethality, asymptomatic signs or even the symptoms of Covid anywhere after 4 years of lockdowns and mandatory vaxxxes. Who the hell knows what's in the vaxxx bioweapons? No one is allowed to test them rigorously except the psy-ops goons at NIH, CDC, DARPA and CIA. Ana Mihalcea keeps finding scarier and scarier things in vaxxxed and unvaxxxed blood, but none of them are viruses. As a health economist I have known virologists and infectious disease specialists at the CDC, UCLA, USC, UCSD, Hopkins, Stanford, NIH and elsewhere for decades. Some of them were even my friends. Virologists won't engage in honest debate even for millions of dollars as billionaire Steve Kirsch has discovered many times. EVERY SINGLE ONE of them clammed up and ceased all contacts with me by about March 2020 (not for lack of me trying to talk to them and explain how devastating the lockdown and mask policies were going to be--all my pessimistic predictions were vindicated). Not even religious zealots I know have ever been so hostile and unwilling to engage. How do you "trust the science" when the scientists/used car salesmen selling the science won't engage with anyone spouting "disinformation" and have every contrary view expunged from the media as well as the scientific and mainstream literature? It all makes sense when you "follow the money" which is what we economists are trained to do. I don't see how it makes any sense from any other perspective.
