I realize I didn't comment about Duchesne's defense of Western civilization or about the video. I admit I am unlikely to get that book given how backed up my reading list has become. In my mind I think Western civilization has benefited from perhaps more adopted genetics from neanderthal populations intermixed to a greater degree in Western civilizations. I see it as a general tendency to tolerance in tribal groups coming together. The West seem to accept failure while also rewarding success. Failure in other societies often meant social isolation and a degree of intolerance.

As one reviewer of the book notes we even tolerate the views of the woke bunch which are contrary to most of society in their framing. So our tolerance may have led to extensive advancements in technology but has the deficit of allowing attacks on that same society; attacks only possible because of the newer technologies. Our one human trait that seems impossible to eradicate or control well is our rampant greed which underlies many religious principles to reduce that tendency.

But I admit to have limited knowledge of the world of socialization other then via observation. I am of the physical sciences with limited background in other areas.

We each have our stories to tell about race. In California we always had quite a mix, and never had institutional slavery or Jim Crow. A few years ago I pulled my lifetime observations into this piece.

You write..."In the process, I noticed that they are charging $50 for the book. I am sure that is because they do not approve of Duchesne’s message and they don’t want people to read the book."...

No need for conspiracy theories.

I paid $ 95 for "Ukrainian Nationalism in the Age of Extremes: An Intellectual Biography of Dmytro Dontsov" when the book came out. It is a question how many books will sell. If he sells 1,000 books it is a best seller.

Maybe, but Amazon has made fivefold bumps in the price of enough of the books I have reviewed to make me sure it is more than that. "The Crucifixion of Russia" was under $10 when I bought it. Then they discontinued it. Then they brought it back at more than $100. Now it is discontinued again.

Duchesne's is not an academic tome. It is in a class with Kevin MacDonald's Liberalism and the Western Individual Tradition. $5.00 on Kindle. Since delivery costs nothing, Kindle pricing is totally arbitrary.

If they wanted to sell it, this book would be available in Kindle, or at least print on demand. Either way it costs less than the $212 they ask for the hard copy. FWIW, it is available for free download in PDF format.

For most non-mass market books prices can be whatever the market will bear. Often sellers do attempt to sell out-of-print stuff at outrageous prices on Amazon that can easily be found elsewhere for much less.

The "Swine Flu Affair" is available from Amazon at various price points in paperback from $80 to $15. They are not going to tell you this US Government publication is https://nap.nationalacademies.org/catalog/12660/the-swine-flu-affair-decision-making-on-a-slippery-disease is free as a PDF.

So where is the Conspiracy and who is the culprit?

I grew up with African Americans in the gun and drug infested slums of Manhattan.

My friends always said that racism was a conspiracy with the "MAN" controlling it.

They were partially right about the "MAN" but it was the cultural racisms in our society. The racist behavior was not because we were instructed by the "MAN" but it was society's reflexive behavior.

Two examples:

1. The Golden Age of Fraternalism a period in our history when membership in fraternal societies in the United States grew at a very rapid pace in the latter third of the 19th century and continuing into the first part of the 20th. At its peak, it was suggested that as much as 40% of the adult male population held membership in at least one fraternal order.[1]

Major examples are the Freemasons, the Knights of Columbus, the Rechabites, the Odd Fellows, the Good Templars, the Elks, the Shriners, and Rotary Club, as well as the second iteration of the Ku Klux Klan.

[1]Moore, William D. "Secret Societies in America: Foundational Studies in Fraternalism" (PDF). Cornerstone Publishers. Archived from the original (PDF) on 4 March 2016. Retrieved 24 December 2015.

2. Don't forget that today in America 40% of the population is racist.

The racists are self identifying, they are the Americans that believe that Obama was never right and Trump was never wrong.

In my opinion if you rely on conspiracies to explain your environment you will never learn or know the WHY!

" Don't forget that today in America 40% of the population is racist." - A statement of facts not in evidence. There is a stigma to being poor, even among the poor. The poverty in cities is a product of poor education and an inability of any government to actually assist people. Tribal instincts are strongest in crowded conditions and least in rural communities.

Quite unfair to both Obama and Trump to examine how modern political parties use divisions to improve their appeal to narrow groups. They promote tribalism as a means to hold power for themselves. It actually has been increasing as modern political theory and psychological techniques get used to increase tribalism, not particularly socially healthy IMHO.

Fact, when 40% of Americans would not accept Obama , 40 % accepted Trump ! That is a fact not fiction and if you want the research on these statistics I can get them for you, although it would be a chore!

But then you sound like sound researcher!
