The cliche about Capitol Hill staffers is"They come to do good and stay to do well"

Young, eager and idealistic they arrive on the Hill and after so many years they transition to the lobbying corps to make more $$$$$.

It is a shame about the removal of reviews. Why spend energy reviewing a book in detail if some kid comes along ten years late, working for Amazon, and Poof! pushes a button and your thoughts disappear.

How about some permanence Mister Bezos?

Great article, unfortunate that I cannot crosspost as I don't publish anything and consequently have no followers.

Glad you liked it. At this point in history I hate to promote Warren, but 20 years ago she was on target.

The industrial complex needs labor, the cheaper the better. Getting women in the work force improved the stats - well done feminists. That way they can pay less for both.

Interesting and insightful review. It seems to me that the middle classes are being progressiviely squeezed, with society reverting to a form similiar to feudalism. A small class of extremely wealthy elites and a large class of impoverished, acting as the biddable servants. Even farmers are are becoming the equivalent of serfs as mega rich indivuals like Bill Gates and Ted Turner and corporations like Black Roack buy up the arable land. While in the cities, previously middle class people try to make a living by driving for Uber or doing fast food delivery for tips. It looks like the wealthy and powerful have bought the government and are merrily colluding in crushing the middle classes like grapes in a press.
