Politics is downstream from evolution. Band-aids won’t fix America’s problem.

President Trump and Elon Musk are outraged by the murder of Ukrainian immigrant Iryna Zarutska. Trump had previously pledged to reverse the social collapse of major American cities, all of them, not coincidentally, governed by Democrats.
He will fail. For a simple reason. Political solutions cannot solve evolutionary problems. Stupid people do stupid things, and we are getting stupider by the generation. My video review of Edward Dutton’s Breeding the Human Herd summarizes the argument. In the bad old days of capital punishment and before welfare, raising children to adulthood took intelligence. It no longer does. Intelligence, and lack thereof, is highly heritable.
Democracy allows stupid people to vote, and no politician can afford to call the voters stupid. Winston Churchill – once he was comfortably out of office – said that “The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” Britain’s situation has gotten demonstrably worse. Not only are the smartest of the native population the least fertile, but the midwits in charge – Dutton despises Keir Starmer - have persuaded themselves that flooding the country with even less capable third-worlders was somehow a good idea.
There is no device within the mechanics of democracy to check its crumbling. It appears that it must, in the words of Charles Hugh Smith, “run to failure.” Collapse. Only once the democracies are no longer able to feed the parasites that are sucking its blood can it be revived. Great will be the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the native-born freeloaders can no longer be fed, and the imported freeloaders are finally shown the door. It is already coming. Trump is making small progress pushing Biden’s millions of immigrants out. Europe is trying as well. However, it remains to be seen whether the complacent, lily-livered natives of those places will have the stomach to do what is necessary. Witness the difficulty Trump is having even getting rid of one “Maryland man.”
It rare, when a civilization collapses, for the next one to rise in its place from its ashes. Western European civilization succeeded the Ottomans and Byzantium. America succeeded Western Europe. Which peoples will rise next is a hard call. East Asian society, however smart, has lost the will to reproduce itself. Muslims reproduct, but don’t build much. Very few places on earth are holding their own in either reproduction or intelligence.
In my dour view the only long-term solution will be a return to harsh natural selection, operating through starvation, imprisonment and capital punishment. Advocating such an approach would get me evicted from polite society. Far better just to go or be someplace where such forces are in place or are not needed. Ukraine is one such. Our society has not been able to afford freeloaders. Our few immigrants have mostly left on account of the war. All we have to do is to hold our own when war ends. Don’t allow the EU to dictate our policies, flood us with immigrants, or use our hard-won military expertise to defend their countries. We need to build success from within, not attempt to import it from models that are demonstrably failing elsewhere in the world. If it means a few generations of austerity, we can handle it.
Choosing a society in which to raise a family is a daunting prospect. Where will the children be allowed to develop into sexually normal men and women? Find compatible partners and raise children among people like themselves? The question is on my mind as I review Maxim Smith’s book The Preparation. His father has chosen to raise him in Uruguay. His father’s mentor, International Man Doug Casey has good words for Argentina and Chile as well. I wrote last year that those were my Plans B and C if we have to leave. However, for the time being I remain convinced that Ukraine, though flawed in many ways, simply has fewer drawbacks than the alternatives.

“Don’t allow the EU to dictate our policies, flood us with immigrants, or use our hard-won . . .”
From your keyboard to God’s ((and whoever leads Ukraine’s$ eyes.
I've got grandkids who'll be 3 this month. I guess I need to get reading.
