Can't directly address female CEOs, I doubt they are particularly skilled because they might be risk-adverse. But that makes them quite good at CFO, or as your personal broker. That pesky testosterone, competitive urge fades away if their goal is money rather than beating the other guy.

Women can be excellent shooters once motivated. They rarely are hasty and can remain calm. They have a place in any army but can be terribly ruthless. They shouldn't be placed in positions where hand-hand combat might be expected.
There were some notorious female snipers in the Viet Cong, including Apache woman and Lam Thi Dep. That notwithstanding, war is a male enterprise. The presence of women and gays among the troops even in Vietnam sometimes led to some awkward situations.
At the time we were aware that our Capt was gay. Don't think anybody really cared. I can recall being somewhat sad because of his difficulties. Our outfit had no females as far as I recall. But that was before 1966, things changed once I returned stateside and other duty.
Nobody really cared. That's the story. The era gets a bum rap, as if we were all homophobes. All we would ask is that they leave us and our kids alone.

The woman in question ran a sniper school in Kyiv. I don't recall that she was in the field.
