200 Years has very nearly been memory-holed. I was able to find an earlier translation, pdf version. Dugin's book is nearly as suppressed, although I found a pdf copy slightly easier. Browder's book is showing up on Amazon. Apparently, he fits the current narrative.

Neither 200 Years or Dugin were available on eBay, which is always a good source for used books.

I find this most interesting and a bit distressing. It fits in with a certain ideology that was supposed to have been defeated in 1945. I've been saying that I need new conspiracy theories because all of my old ones have come true, but day-um.

It also occurs to me that by searching for these books, I've probably succeeded in finally getting myself on all of the "lists" the old conspiracy theorists were so concerned about. Oh well. :-)

Good for you. I have a samizdat of Crucifixion of Russia, but I think your pdf will work fine.

Browder is a crook through and through. He used the death of Magnitsky to hide his crimes. Idiots like McCain and Graham were totally duped. And so was Congress. Willing dupes, I might add.

Glad you think so. I thought I saw a book on this subject, but cannot find it again.

Beware of bullshit! That film is promoted by all of Browder's enemies, those in the Kremlin and those funded by the Kremlin. A little research will show you that the film is not an objective narrative. It was made to counter Browder's efforts in the west to thwart Putin's crimes in Russia. No one can doubt that Putin is an evil bastard who not only shells civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, but poisons his enemies in Russia and the west, but organizes assassinations in Berlin, London, and Washington, DC.

Some evidence please. Magnitsky seemed to be a decent guy. I can't say the same about Browder. And please to not cite Russian sources. They are always suspect. I hate it when people quote Russian propaganda as truth.

The movie is bullshit. Look at who was promoting it. A collection of truly shady and immoral characters.

You obviously haven't watched the movie because if you had you would have known that the director has been strongly anti-Putin and has built a track record on this. The movie interviews all of the key players, including Magnitsky's mother. The problem with people like you is your mind is made up before even examining the evidence. With your approach all you have to do is read a few reviews and your biases are confirmed. You are no different than Snopes. Do your homework before popping off.

I really can't weigh in to the Browder story given all I really know comes from him. More to the point I wonder who really can know? I see references here to a documentary that may or may not be true. The shady dealings around Russia at the time and the emergence of the Putin syndicate give me hesitancy about anything that may have happened during that time. The Magnitsky act and following acts seem to sanction a few people connected to human rights abuses. Fair or not, that seems useful in itself.

As far as Browder is concerned, he may or may not be a scammer, so don't care.

Ukraine was a pretty tame place. Hard to consider the place tame when it is the target of a fool's wrath.

As for Bill Browder, he is no saint. He's a vulture capitalist who went to Russia to make a fortune by buying undervalued Soviet assets and then turning them into cash. I think Putin decided to get rid of him because he was stealing money that Putin and his pals considered their money. But his attorney by all accounts was a decent guy and they murdered him in prison. Hence, the Magnitsky Act.

In my opinion, Browder was operating like a Hedge Fund in Russia, and I don't like Hedge Funds because them make their money by fucking somebody. The latest Hedge Fund ploy is to buy up cheap trailer parks, jack up the rents, and throw out the poor people who inhabit them. It's one way of getting rid of trailer trash, but I don't endorse it.

I think we should have a nice clean out of Wall Street and the City of London. Those money traders and Hedge Fund jerks should find jobs that actually make a positive contribution to society, instead of leeching off the rest of us. They are parasites, and frankly speaking, Browder was a parasite in Russia. the only positive contribution he made was trying to get Russian (formerly Soviet) companies to be transparent. If anything, Putin does not endorse transparency.

You see, you compromise your statements by using Russian propaganda. My god, the people who were promoting the film are vile and disgusting human beings. Try to find something that is not Russian propaganda. The film was probably secretly funded by Putin to counter Browder's efforts against Putin's thugs in the west. Come on! Please have some integrity!
