good reminder: cash is king. I watch the news reports and it appears that Vlad is trying to freeze the people to force a surrender, otherwise he risk losing even more. Putin takes away your power while our KING refuses to tap our resources for fuel so maybe we face a cold winter here. We suffer the cost of incompetence, a softer but surely as deadly long term. Thanks for being witness to the insanity gripping your region, itself a reflection, perhaps, of a larger sickness.

I was relieved that you were safe.

Unkraine looks already snowy and cold.

I pray that you and your family will be careful of the bombings and that you will be safe until peace is restored.

Aliona told me that when I come back, I should bring cash. Unfortunately, the generator conked out today. Fortunately, our neighbor Kostya knows exactly how to fix this particular issue (he's gotten 4 service calls just today!), IF the part is available. I'm dreading traversing Kyiv if the traffic lights are out! Also, fortunately, the power came back on for a few hours! Anything I can bring you from the Aldi?
