Paul Craig Roberts wrote one of the most vapid, empty articles ever attacking people who think Russia is losing this war.  Why are they wrong?  What can he see from Washington that escapes me in Kyiv?  I think Roberts is right on many things economic and political.  But on Russia he has failed to convince me.  Show me numbers.  Show some progress.

Roberts laments the passing of the great Russia experts such as Stephen F. Cohen.  Yesterday I posted my 2019 review of his War with Russia.  Though I am sure Roberts would condemn my lèse-majesté, I found the great man quite fallible then and do again now.  I’ll let you readers judge how accurate I was those three and a half years ago.  As one commenter noted, it was hastily written and badly proofread.  So sue me.  The moral of the story is that one should always be ready to challenge an argument from authority.  Oh, you’ve been schooled in that lesson by other means over the past three years?  Good for you!

Most of Roberts’ supporters are among the conservatives David Cole constantly ridicules.  If Biden is for it, they are agin’ it.  Today Cole takes a swipe at Vox Day, whom I mentioned a day ago.  Nobody is 100% right or wrong.  I liked, and still like, Vox Day’s SJWs Always Lie and SJWs Always Double Down.  Unfortunately, Russophiles also double down. 

Edward Dutton goes on at length about the Head Girl.  Here’s a piece today that exquisitely skewers a German Head Girl with regard to Covid.  She is the head of the German Ethics Council, which did precisely nothing over the past three years as there were enough violations of medical ethics to keep a Nürnberg process going into the next century. There are many others. New Zealand’s Jacinda Ardern and Canada’s Chrystia Freeland come to mind.  Pretty boy Justin Trudeau also, for that matter.  The Masters of the Universe love to use Head Girls, but one notes that their exclusive ranks consist exclusively of men.  Whyzat?

On a last note, we keep reading about the transhumanists’ desire to create test tube babies.  Not a new idea – Aldous Huxley did it in Brave New World.  The complex questions of nutrition, antibodies and so on notwithstanding, there is the issue of raising and socializing a child.  Huxley didn’t address it, and neither do the transhumanists.  But it is growing up in a family that makes us human.  Without socialization we become like Genie the wild girl.
