This was a productive day. As you may have noticed, I was able to figure out how to create a document with links to all of my posts over the past year and a half. I like to think that some of you want to go back and look at my book reviews from time to time. Or, you may want to check and see how my predictions about Covid and the war compare with what has happened.
I also finally finished my movie on The Evolution of What Women Want. What with babysitting duties and power outages – three today – it hasn't been all that easy. I also posted an updated version of the related article containing footnotes and references to my sources.
I uploaded the movie to both YouTube and Rumble. The graphic below links to Rumble – they don't censor me. They seem to be the emerging alternative to Google/YouTube, and God knows the world needs an alternative.
My theme is that the future of the species depends on what women want. It is constantly evolving. Since the Industrial Revolution it has generally evolved away from a desire to have children. Fertility started to fall in France back in Napoleon's time and the rest of the developed world has caught up. But evolution is an ongoing process, and I think although the world population will drop precipitously, enough women will at some point once again want children that it stabilizes.
Russia has always been a special case, all the more so now that they have initiated this bloody war with Ukraine. Edward Slavsquat's articles, formerly from Moscow, now simply about Moscow and Russia, always provide a different perspective. Today's is Russia's rapidly declining birth rate, echoing that in the West. Although neither the government nor any other institution is keeping statistics, it appears that the Covid vaccinations are affecting Russia just as much as the West. Here is a link to his Russian-language source.
That's the news from Lake WeBeGone, where the strong man is happy to report that his grip on the kitchen seems to be firm. Even though Grandma Nadia has stuffed the refrigerator with borscht I was still able to manage a simple dinner of pork chops and sauerkraut. The kids loved it, and even Oksana and her mom had some. Eddie and Zoriana and I zipped through a 260 piece jigsaw puzzle under a battery powered light as Marianna watched with interest and envy of our absorption.
Tidy video that really addresses many social issues that perhaps relate tangentially to what do women want. You might find this Unherd article of interest https://unherd.com/2023/01/whats-wrong-with-being-a-matriarch. Notably "For such women, the work ahead is matricidal, in the sense of rebelling against recent generations of women." Much like the observations about a return to certain traditional roles. I often image the feminist revolution was sponsored by business eager to get female workers for less. And it's a rare female who can be as ruthless as males when it comes to business. While many politicians and some of the SJW types are discovering that women can be ruthless when you start messing with their children.
