Timing is everything. Write this in the morning, and silver is up almost 5% by afternoon. More significant, IMHO, our nuclear stocks OKLO and SMR are on fire again since Microsoft's announced plans to bring Three Mile Island back to life.
Firstly, congrats on your 14th! We celebrated our 25th this year, though we were separated at the time due to the ongoing unpleasantness . . .
On PM, I had some Swiss physical ETFs which, because I wasn't sure how to trade them (it had to be done over the phone, as Fidelity could't just do it from the Webapp), probably kept us out of the millionaires club (which means little these days). Of course, all my physical assets were lost in a terrible boating accident, along with all my guns and ammo.
As to the DS perpetrating shenanigans against DJT (just like last time), most of us in Ukraine certainly are wondering whether or not that is good for us. President Zelenski is shopping his "Victory Plan" to not just the Demented-in-Diapers, but also to BOTH Kamala and the Donald. So, here we sit with bated breath, wondering what, if anything will come of all this. Were things going well for our guys on the front lines, I doubt that President Zelenski would be acting in such a desperate fashion. This doesn't help me to sleep better.
The channels are rife with the pundits' conjectures about what the plan really is. Certainly, Zelenski is pushing for permission to use long-range weapons on the deep interior of Russia. The idea is also being disseminated that Ukraine must be added to NATO before the coming election, the idea being that Russia will retreat with her tail between her legs rather than face the prospect of all out war with NATO, via Article 5.
If the world still exists, I'll be having a minor surgery, recuperating, and then replacing my beloved back in Kyiv by November. Somehow, I'm the best choice for managing the house during the winter. My only issue is having to walk Bruno, the idiot dog.
Hope to see you all in the not TOO distant future.
With regard to what's good for Ukraine, it is hard to tell. My (minority) opinion is that Putin has so exhausted Russia that even given a few years of peace, they will not get themselves in a position to take another swipe at us. Moreover, why would we want the Donbas back, especially at a cost in blood, in the shape it is in? The good people are already here with us.
But... it isn't my decision to make. I'm thankful that they seem to have run short on rockets to throw at Kyiv.
I believe that the sclerotic empires of the West, led by Washington, intend to fight in Ukraine to the last Ukrainian, and the Chinese, to the last Russian - in other words, I see ulterior motives at work. I believe that Ukraine must stand on its own - and if they develop a hypersonic missile - which I think is eminently doable, they will be able to do so, and ditch the various Deep States. Ukraine is fighting two kinds of wars - fighting along a mostly static defensive line as in World War I (which is sapping its strength and will) for one, and a war to deprive its opponent of its logistics and the ability to move such to the battlefront. My bet is that Ukraine wins the latter war before it comes close to moving the other one off Top Dead Center - and that will result in ultimate victory. Armies march - and survive - on logistics, and long supply lines are a target of opportunity, the trick is to make supplying an army in the field too expensive. Sure, they can raise 180,000 new men - but they have to feed, house, clothe, and arm them - and provide for clean water and sanitation - and disease kills armies as fast, if not faster, than bullets...
"Armies march - and survive - on logistics". Always! My hope is that the US, perhaps ordered by a Trump, decides to out produce field munitions and cheap drones. True enough that Apple couldn't get US produced screws for it's computers but government direction could reverse that situation, if a President desired. As a counter to China, a supply airlift is more than possible, but needed to prove capability. Hard to know what candidates plan, both pretty silent. Zeleniski is hedging his bets. Interesting times ahead.
I think you're right about gold. The feds can't fix the gold market forever and I think they're running low on ammo. Zelenzky claims to be able to win before Trump can even take office. One would think that the dems and NATO would go for that plan unless they are really only in it to further bleed Moscow.
hi the dollar is going there is no way around the fact.the deep state will put her in. we are the ones that stopped the dollar in 2008 and we will not come and save it get ready they will expand the war . have fun paul ps think MIELE

Same Paul as 20 years ago. We are having fun.
A Happy Anniversary to you and your lovely wife, and a Happy Birthday to the kids.
Have you considered or do you keep some of your PMs as physical items rather than shares of an ETF?
