I have made the mistake of reading through McGregor's articles on the Ukrainian war. He has been consistently proclaiming Russia's immediate victory since March last year. His record is remarkable for being completely wrong at all times. Utterly consistent.

Thanks for doing that. I didn't have the time or the stomach.

I would say 'my pleasure' but it really wasn't. He literally keeps repeating, every month, that the Ukrainians are finished and about to imminently collapse. And his commentators keep on cheering and praising him, as his every prediction is proved false. I am almost tempted to create a timeline of his predictions but it is so very, very tedious and irritating to wade through the idiocy.

I'd like to hear your comments on this eugyppius post. He's a smart guy.

Read through that article and completely unimpressed. Just a rehash of the 'Russian steamroller' delusion that has been proven false. Russia always seems to have huge numbers of tanks and troops that it's 'just about' to bring to the front. And yet never quite does......

The only real claim in that article is ''According to the London-based think tank International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), Russia will soon have 4000 deployable tanks at its disposal ''

I've looked high and low through the IISS website. Can't find that claim, but lots of interesting commentary about how Russia is doing badly. Looks like a complete misrepresentation of the IISS's position. https://www.iiss.org/blogs/analysis/2023/01/strategic-survey-2022-russias-war-in-ukraine

Gotta agree. Tanks are an offensive weapon. Very useful in a battle like Bakhmut, which has been going on for five months. If they had those phantom tanks, I'm sure we would have seen them. My bet is on rusted-out, mothballed T-60s that would take forever to refurbish and be useless if they were.

Well let him know and see if he’s as blind on Russia-Ukraine as all the covidians are on vaxxxes. I’d be fascinated if renegades on covid truethink can’t understand logic, evidence and reason on Russia-Ukraine.

It's possible to be right about one thing and wrong about another. I see a LOT of covid contrarians rushing to cheerlead for Putin, apparently on the basis that Biden is bad, therefore Putin is good. Tribal thinking.
