When Sheikh Rashid of Dubai was once asked about the future of his country, he replied: “My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I ride a Mercedes, my son rides a Land Rover, and my grandson is going to ride a Land Rover, but my great-grandson is going to have to ride a camel again.”

“‘Why is that’, he was asked? And his reply was — ‘Hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times. Easy times create weak men, weak men create difficult times. Many will not understand it but you have to raise warriors, not parasites.'”

Wonderful piece Graham!

I'm honored for the mention. I wish I had left USA 15 years ago. I was a caretaker for my father and stepmother and they of course didn't want to go. I hope you write more on this subject.

I certainly will. I'm in a delightful situation. 25 years retired, leading a modest existence on Social Security in low-cost Ukraine. Oksana is unaffected by the currents of modernity that make so many American women not want children and makes raising them so difficult - as I experienced a generation ago. See Dutton's "Spiteful Mutants." Among his many sins is to write honestly about sex differences. I'll link to my review one way or another when it is done, whether or not Amazon accepts it. One of the great pleasures of Substack is exchanges like this with people whose work I have long admired.

Another chatty article from Graham. 'Keep 'em coming'.

I find myself coming to the same conclusion as you. The societal trends are not reassuring. Things are likely to end badly and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Of course, at some point after the collapse and ruination, we will understand what has been lost. Perhaps then, we can rebuild.

I see Ukraine as the shining city on the hill. Their resolve, sacrifice and bravery is an inspiration. When the war is over, and Ukraine is free, perhaps they will show us the way. With other Eastern European countries like Poland in tow.

I can't believe that with all the sacrifices Ukraine has made, they would choose decadence, corruption. and a downward spiral. But we shall see.

Lord Fauci's reception suggests that the masses are no longer being fooled about CoV and vaccines. Their masters were not getting the word but the CDC position change is a signal to the lower masters that the grift is over. Perhaps Fauci's retirement might happen sooner now.

The notion of continued evolution makes sense. In the US I see that creeping communistic notions are now normal and accepted by larger numbers. We seem no longer proud of our nation nor exactly willing to endure hardships to retain our freedoms. OTOH, perhaps the abuses that have taken place during the pandemic has altered many who previously were not concerned much. As the economy collapses slowly all around them they seek change. Perhaps many are being to doubt their government really has a clue.

In a depopulation scenario, done worldwide, to hit a predetermined target of reduction of human lives, it seems that targets have been set for each country - including the RF. I'd have to wonder about the post-vax death rate in the RF - obviously, it's not enough... so coercive measures must be used. Perhaps in the US the target has been hit, or close enough to it - and the BS isn't working any more. Trump is still pushing the "vaccine", though... I think the best attitude is to not trust governments with your life, especially highly centralized corrupt governments which admittedly lie to their citizens. It really doesn't matter who gets elected to national office, especially the presidency, it appears to be a thoroughly rigged game. And when the media is little more than a propaganda mouthpiece for the government and whoever sets its policies, it isn't to be trusted either. "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."
