This Biden seems to slow walk everything so maybe this is just par for the course, But remember the Bidens had financcial patrons in Kiev , Moscow and Bejing. And his administration is drenched in wokeness. The press was onto the loser narrative after days from the outset.

If Biden is being informed by the CIA about the inevitability of Russia, he has cover. We really ought to be worried more about the security of Russian strategic forces should internal instability happen. As we revisit the 1980's (Perestroika and Glasnost) and the world inflation of the 70's, Russia needed help from the US (and world) in order to restore economic security but even more important, security of strategic weapons. The world has imposed economic sanctions on a scale never before done which has unknown consequences. I do hope the CIA is watching that but given their track record my confidence is low.

Putin's moves have exposed the weakness in the US as both face great failures in domestic policy. Political corrections are possible in the US so they might be prudent. Putin?

watch, wait, assess, evaluate and take action as necessary. To just veer away is not a strategy for ever winning. Nor is it a good response to a bully.

Russia will control nothing in Ukraine, not after this, they'll be hunted down for years after this, until every last one is driven out. They'll have the same status as Nazis after the end of World War II - unless a sea change in government happens in Russia - and real change, not just calling the same structures by different names...

Your "CIA agent" most probably was nothing of the sort, it's a violation of federal law to tell people that you work for the Agency. Generally, what you say is that you work for the State Department but are not speaking in a formal capacity, or that you're a consultant or something like that. Once you're no longer working for CIA, then you can say you were a former employee of CIA, but you can't give away classified information - also a violation of federal law. People who identify themselves as "CIA employees" to others not in CIA are generally BS artists, trying to give whatever they're pushing some sort of credibility which it probably doesn't have.

Thanks for this assessment. "Pres. Zelenskyy was telling Pres. Trump what Pres. Trump wanted to hear." - I think not at all. Z likely well understands the real purpose of Trumps call and likely knows a lot about the various corruption schemes. He wanted to walk a very fine line between Trump's objectives and his own future given his own political backers. He could not afford to offend anybody. Simply my opinion. Trump wanted to really know about corruption related to the Bidens which has arrived via the laptop, Z didn't want to reveal anything.

"Zelenskyy, who has great experience as a communicator from his acting career, to effectively and powerfully transmit his message, and Ukraine’s message, to diverse audiences, across multiple cultures." - More than being effective. I think he has transformed himself and now is his own man. He is better prepared to lead Ukraine into a much better future for his people. Quite exceptional but still a work in progress.

"Russia will end up controlling the part of Donbas that they don’t already control" - We shall see. Another work in progress. Perhaps it will be like the 1964 film Zulu, but as long as Ukraine has weapons the fight will go on. I suspect even Crimea will be retaken. I worry more about desperation moves by the Russians that could result in an expanded WWIII. The aftermath of that would end most wealth accumulation something Putin might understand.
