It is the critical thinkers who end up being considered “contrarians”. History (and capitalism) have extraordinarily rewarded contrarian investors. Your reasons for staying are good ones. And frankly, it’s nobody else’s place to judge those decisions as they aren’t theirs to make. I worry if the government does fall and Russia makes the laws that the lack of a free press and the attack on opposing political views may offset the family values that are now underway in Russian society will plague your family. Of course, that’s an assumption made with surface level information, only time will reveal the rest.

That's a risk. My guess is that Russian kids will look at my 79-year-old face, my frail, failing father-in-law, grandma, mom and three kids and decide there is nothing dangerous here. But you never know.

Good morning from Memphis (10 am)! Thank you so much for your post— especially this one:” If in living, we risk dying, that's the way it is.” And I barely get out the front door—your story is amazing and inspiring—as I’m very raw and isolated from the past 2 years of tyranny/ force and from being ostracized by family and friends. Insane and unbelievable. Therefore, I’m grateful for your clarity and your beautiful, intimate writing. Take care!

Praying for your safety today, and grateful for the update! The world is drowning in fake news and fake science. It is nice to hear from a real, normal person.

I’m envious of your situation & full of admiration for the choices you’ve made. I share with you your phlegmatic resolve & the things you’ve chosen to regard as important. Hallelujah & good luck.

My kids aren’t woke & love their mum & papa. We even have grandkids, two tiny boys. But England is dead & we will not stay.

The NWO is in the ascendant & Ukraine will be fine for a while. Putin doesn’t want it, but he won’t let anyone else have it, either.

The sooner as accommodation is found that doesn’t leave Russia feeling vulnerable, the sooner they’ll go home. According to Professor John Meirscheimer, Putin wont deliberately kill many Ukrainians, but instead, steadily destroy the infrastructure.
