I literally had to ask myself what planet is Antonio Guterres living on when he says July is the hottest month on record. About "global warming" was being overtaken by "global boiling." Not the same one as me!
I followed the link in the Guardian article above to Guterres' panic inspiring speech and also to his (and the Guardian's) sources. It turns out that the article relies almost exclusively on Copernicus/ERA5. They provide this helpful graphic which supports their argument that this is the hottest year ever. It implies that temperatures globally have gone up almost 2°C since 1940. I've been living on this planet since just after 1940 and didn't notice it whatsoever. If it were true, the climate hucksters would have ballyhooed it and proven it many times over. They have not. Some claim it, but I haven't seen much in the way of proof.
A search on Copernicus/ERA5 yields an awful lot of breast-beating about how wonderful they are, but very few external references to them. Those there are almost exclusively European governments. I search on "Copernicus/ERA5 methodology" and likewise come up with a lot of blather on how wonderful it is but not how they do it.
It turns out that this is a project that is pretty much funded and controlled by the European space agency. Like NASA in the United States, it appears to be a captive of the global warming private interests. There is a huge amount of money in solar, electric cars, carbon credits, windmills and so on.
Poking around, I found several other links pro and con. On the we-are-all-going-to-die-side we have:
on the they-are-lying-to-us-again-side we have:

You readers know that I am in the latter camp. Just to reiterate, I have been a bicycle commuter since the 1970s and I don't sweat any more in summers now than back then. As I have been writing each summer in this blog, it seems like every year we have to wait longer before we can go swimming in the local lakes.
If you follow the three cynical links above, you find a standard bag of tricks played by the panicmongers. They claim that water temperatures are 100°F by putting the thermometer right at the top of a very shallow swamp. If you go out into the actual ocean it is only 86°. They were caught putting thermometers right on the ground as opposed to 2 m above the ground, in the shade, like they're supposed to do. As we all know from walking on the beach in summer, the earth itself gets pretty hot as it absorbs the sun's rays.
One of the things that I never encounter are reasoned arguments justifying that panicmongers’ methodology. They continue spreading their story as if we naysayers did not exist. Have we seen this before? Yes, with regard to Covid, gender issues, intelligence… just about everything. They blithely ignore us.
Some of you readers are sufficiently invested in the global warming story to send me links designed to stampede me. I will do my own research, thanks. Let me return the invitation. Why don't you please respond to the cynical arguments above? The single best source is Tony Heller's realclimatescience.com. He is often disparaged but never refuted, so far as I know. Check out his piece on "hottest temperature ever." While you're at it, check out his analysis of the mechanisms involved in they lie to you.
Here is a link that the panicmonger vaccine fanatics certainly don't want you to follow. It shows, by the graph below, that among developed countries that mandate childhood vaccines, the more required vaccines, the higher the death rate among children. It should of course be exactly the opposite if vaccines do what they're supposed to.
This is measuring only deaths. I am sure you would see the same thing for autism, autoimmune disease and other ailments. But the fundamental question they never answer is "Why would you do that?" The first tenet of the Hippocratic oath is "First do no harm." Unless they could demonstrate that vaccinated kids did demonstrably better than nonvaccinated kids, why take the chance?
The "why would you do that?" argument applies in spades to the Covid vaccines. Governments have conceded that the Covid vaccines do not prevent the disease, do not prevent it spreading, and do not lessen its impact if you happen to get it. They are silent in the face of arguments that they cause elevated rates of myocarditis and other heart problems, autoimmune diseases, cancers and many other ailments. Once again, why would you do that? Yet governments continue not only to advocate them but, in some cases, to require them.
If there is any cold comfort to be taken from the aggression of the vaccine fanatics, it is that they are forcing them on the Russian population. Give it enough time and Russia may not have the manpower to continue to oppress Ukraine. Same seems to be true in China.
Here is food for thought. I have always considered Americans to be the most gregarious people on earth. Not so anymore. Per this survey we don't even like talking to each other very much. It fits in with my observation that longtime acquaintances are just uninterested in continued communication. Of course, as a self-assured extrovert, I have to conclude that the reason lies with them and not with me. The fact that I haven't changed much in 60 years reassures me in that conviction.
Who wudda thunk? Now that marijuana is legal, and they put it in sweets, kids are showing up in the hospital with cannabis poisoning. I'm grateful once again to be living in such a supposedly backwards country.
I delivered my speech on speed dating to a packed house at our Toastmasters meeting on Saturday. The other two speeches on speed dating were also well composed and well received. I had a wonderful conversation after the meeting with one of our guests, Vittorio. He offered point by point counters to my arguments as to why this was an auspicious time to have children. It is a pleasure to meet such an intelligent guy. I will spend today writing a recap of our conversation.
That is the news from Lake WeBeGone, where the hot weather has not yet arrived. This morning the best I can hope is that my sheets dry by bedtime.
I was a once in agreement that vaccines not linked to autism. That more based on old concepts. I now understand there are many more shots recommended for kids and that no long term safety data has been collected. A control group, the Amish, don't see cases of autism - might be a clue.
Another hot day in Berlin. Yesterday, I went to the Wannsee, a wide part of a river which i like a lake to visit my relatives. It rained in the afternoon as I was walking for the bus, and everybody in the middle of the hottest summer in history was huddled under outdoor umbrellas licking their ice cream cones and drinking beer.
Somebody asked, what happened to our summer?
I answered, it was on a Thursday two weeks ago.
The climate alarmists, they never give up.
