I’ve been having trouble using my microphone with my camera. The receptacle built into the camera is a little bit loose, and the two 6.3 to 3.5 mm jack adapters I used didn’t seem to work. Since everything worked when I plugged them into the computer, I thought I’d give it one more try with a new jack adapter. Eureka!
I said I was going upstairs to try it. Zoriana insisted on coming along, so I suggested that we make a movie together. We sang the song you will see now.
The song has a history. When Eddie was learning his ABCs we got set of alphabetic cutouts of the Latin alphabet. The rubber mats had holes cut for each letter, with different colored letters pressed into them. Obviously they use the same dies to cut different colored pieces of rubber and simply swapped the cutouts between the masters.
In the interest of space, the first of the sheets had the letters A through F, then L. G H and I were on the second sheet. So Eddie and I made up this song about it, which Zoriana and I now sing. ABCDEF L
This is the first use of the microphone. Everything else is subpar – bad lighting, pajamas, and clothes that were old when I brought them from the United States 15 years ago. But the microphone works fine.
We don’t need more things to worry about, but worrying us is how they make money. We fought the fluoridation battles back in the 1950s. The conservative John Birch society – people under 70 don’t even remember them – considered fluoridation to be a communist plot to destroy the youth of America. After what we’ve seen of Covid we are ready to believe anything. Here is some brand-new fear mongering.
And here and here are the authorities pooh-poohing the fear mongering. Three years ago I would’ve taken them at their word. I don’t take the government’s word for anything with regard to my health anymore. But for us it doesn’t matter – we drink well water.
For what it’s worth, Oksana and I grew up without fluoridated water. My adult children, growing up in Washington DC and suburban Maryland, apparently did. God knows why they turned out how they did, but this is yet one more variable to throw into the equation.
I just finished reading The Next Wave is Brave: Standing Up for Medical Freedom. I will write a review shortly. It is a curious book, an advertisement for The Wellness Company which is being founded by a group of the superstar doctors who were so thoroughly canceled for voicing their opinions during the Covid crisis. Their thesis is that American medicine is thoroughly corrupt. Instead of working to keep people well, it works to keep them buying pharmaceutical products and treatments that fail to make them well while making the industry rich.
I bought a membership – it is only $10 a month. I find, however, that the telemedicine they offer covers only acute disease, not chronic disease and that they have no support for pediatric medicine. It looks like one of the major benefits is that their pharmacy will sell you the drugs you need instead of the overpriced drugs that the your doctors are pushing on you, and they will sell you drugs you can’t get elsewhere because Anthony Fauci doesn’t want you to have them. None of this applies to me in Ukraine, but you might be interested.
One of the things I find interesting is their Physicians Declaration of Independence, about to shake off the fetters imposed on medicine by lawyers, insurance companies, for-profit hospital chains, legislation, Medicare mandates, medical boards, med schools and everything else. I made a movie about these issues last year, which YouTube took down so fast it made my head spin. Here it is again on Rumble.
On the subject of evil people in healthcare, Vanderbilt University hospital in Tennessee is taking a lot of heat about their teenage gender transition program. Carving up healthy teenage bodies for profit. You can search for images of the ghouls in charge. Ellen Wright Clayton and Shayne Taylor. Just by their photographs alone these are people I would not want to entrust my private parts to. Excuse me for saying such a sexist thing!
That’s the news from Lake WeBeGone, where the strong man has to bid you goodbye to referee a fight among the lovely children and serve them dinner.
Not sure if 5 points on IQ is significant and would be quite hard to measure IMHO. In the study https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapediatrics/fullarticle/2748634 they compared pregnant women't fluoride intake via estimates and urine samples. They found boys IQ was connected to fluoride but not girl! Interestingly both boys and girls had a mean IQ > 100; boys 107 +/- 13, girls 109 +/- 12. Using the statistical tests they found a 5 point decrease for boys, none for girls.
Regardless of the study, one might think that the right toothpaste along with dental fluoride application every few years would be perfectly adequate rather than using it in the water.
We are in total agreement with not altering children to fit some sort of physical choice. These life changing alterations are not AFIK reversible and can limit a child's future. If a child wishes to present some alternate appearance, OK but to medically change them is abuse.
Cute granddaughter! If only I were 70 years younger....!
Please take care of her safety.
In Japan, water sources differ from region to region, and management methods & price also differ.
I've heard good things, so let's look into fluoride.
In Japan, 400 to 150 years ago, doctors were allowed to practice medicine if they claimed to be a doctor.
It was a good time in a way.
After that, chasing the West, it became a licensing system only for those who studied Western medicine.
