The Russians appear to be attacking along a broad front, so dispersing their forces. And contining with their First World War tactics of heavy bombardment followed by human waves fo cannon fodder. It's truly perplexing how bad Russian generalship is. Presumably these people have been to military college? They have read books on tactics and strategy? How can they be such poor commanders?
