It is two days after Orthodox Christmas.  On the day, Oksana took Eddie and Zoriana caroling as I stayed home with Marianna.  Next year we need to practice a bit so I can carry Marianna and sing along.

Vitaliy Rulov’s birthday gift to me was a 700-piece wooden model car. Not, of course, for me but for Eddie. He loves it.  Here are two photos.  One after the first couple of days, the second from yesterday.  The model has 70 pages of instructions.  At this point he was through page 40.

Gregory Hood, a head writer at American Renaissance, makes the connection between the deep state evils being revealed by Twitter and everything else and his usual theme, the ongoing assault on white people.  I continue to read these guys, but don’t invest much energy because I think it’s a lost cause.

Here’s an article that comes closer to my nihilistic view of things, entitled When You Come at the Empire of Chaos You Best Not Miss.  Subhead:  This is what Washington lives for and does best.  The writers have no love for the Washington neocon empire or for Russia.  They properly accuse Russia of ineptitude.  Like Eric Draitser of CounterPunch whom I recently mentioned, he accuses Putin of mimicking the United States, only badly.

Edward Slavsquat weighs in again on Russia’s ineptitude in this war with an article entitled “Russias’s Completely Avoidable Shell Hunger in Ukraine.”  If Russia were not such a corrupt society, riddled top to bottom with lies and deceit, it could have prepared for this war.  The fact that they did not means that what was, on paper, the second most powerful military in the world has been stymied by a much smaller, unranked, only recently almost totally disarmed opponent. 

Steve Kirsch was thwarted.  He wrote that there would be a video of the Israeli Ministry of Health coverup of Covid last night at 9:00 our time.  Wrong!  I could not connect on Zoom.  It is not available on YouTube, and even Rumble gives me the message.  410 Video not found.  The Israelis may not be effective fighting Covid, but they are extremely effective shutting up people who talk about it.  Here is how it had previously been advertised.  The Internet being what it is, I expect we’ll see a transcript sometime before lone.  I’ll let you know.  Meanwhile, the suspense plays right into the Streisand effect.  What back in my day would have been the Lady Chatterley effect.  The perverse desire to read something just because they so strongly want you not to.

Grandma Nadia is going home for a couple of weeks.  At last, I get my kitchen back!  Not so fast.  She is spending all morning stuffing the refrigerator with things I didn’t ask for, don’t much like and don’t want.  She asked me to take Marianna for a walk while she does it.  I said no.  I have no trouble cooking and watching kids at the same time.  If a man can do it, as Maria Muldaur claims in this feminist anthem, a woman should have no trouble.

Eddie is at the dentist he was scheduled to see when the Russians decided to pound us a couple of weeks back.  Zoriana is home (almost, somewhat, imperceptibly) sick and Oksana is teaching music at her nursery school while I stay babysit a couple of bored girls. 

That’s the news from Lake WeBeGone, where the strong man has to be grumpy every now and again to avoid being walked all over.  Toastmasters asked for a speech next Saturday.  As I have written, I have my theme – “I Need You” – and just have to write it.
