Latest Tim Ash, Entitled “Are Russian Forces on the Brink of Collapse?” - Review of the Bidding
Tim’s latest Substack blog includes several Twitter posts showing Ukrainian progress towards possibly encircling and trapping approximately 20,000 Russian troops around Izyum, in eastern Ukraine. There are now 2 Ukrainian offensives, the one south of Kharkiv that puts Izyum in danger, and the other around Kherson, where approximately 25,000 Russian troops are trapped on the Right Bank of the Dnieper River. The total, approximately 45,000 must represent close to 50% of the entire Russian presence in Ukraine.
There is a term often used in the game of Contract Bridge, where one the players requests a review of the bids that have been made by the other players. It is time for a short review of the bidding in the War in Ukraine, starting with Ukraine’s announcement in June that they plan to launch a counterattack against Russian forces on the Right Bank of the Dnieper:
· April/June – Russian forces slowly press forward in Donbas, behind massive artillery bombardment, taking Sverodonetsk City and Lysychansk. Western pundits fear the worst, calling for Ukraine to “negotiate,” calling for western countries to pressure Ukraine to negotiate.
· June – Large amounts of western weapons begin arriving in Ukraine, beginning with small amounts but increasing in quantity, including HIMARS, M-777 howitzers, HARM anti-radiation missiles.
· June/July – Ukraine announces its intention of launching a counteroffensive with the objective of taking back Kherson City.
· July/August – Russia appears to move large number of troops from Donbas, where they think they have the upper hand after taking Sverodonestk and Lysychansk, to the Right Bank of the Dnieper to counter Ukraine’s intended counteroffensive.
· August – Ukraine starts hitting Russian targets in Crimea, especially airfields capable of supporting Russian forces on the Right Bank of the Dnieper, along increased activity of Ukrainian partisans, blowing up military targets and hitting pro-Russian local officials.
· August – Ukraine increases attacks against Russian logistics, in both southern Ukraine and Donbas, including ammunition dumps, troop concentrations, command & control nodes and other targets.
· August – Ukraine damages and destroys 4 rail and road bridges, including 3 across the Dnieper River and the 4th across the Inhulets River, the former to trap all those Russians who had moved to the Right Bank from around Kharkiv, and the latter to split the Russian troops on the Right Bank in two.
· August – Western pundits say that Ukraine must take the offensive, lest it lose Western support and must negotiate.
· August 28th – Ukraine launches its much-publicized counteroffensive in Kherson.
· September 6th – Ukraine opens a massive hole in Russian defense lines south of Kharkiv, with the possible objective of trapping Russian forces around Izyum.
Perhaps it is too early to say that the Russian forces are on the “brink of collapse,” but it seems that they’re about to crack, as both retired General Ben Hodges and this newsletter have both predicted.
The prediction of some pundits that Ukraine will be forced to negotiate because of European pressure to induce Russia into open the Nordstream 1 gas spigot need to buy another blanket, to keep them warm this Winter. For the West, the Rubicon has been crossed and there is now no going back. The West needs to either help Ukraine defeat Russia or suffer the consequences of a self-induced defeat by Russia, confirming the Russian allegation that the West is morally bankrupt. The consequence of the latter will be thousands of dead and a nasty gorilla war on Western Europe’s doorstep. Ukraine will not stop fighting.
The Kharkiv Counteroffensive – 3 Videos
These videos all give different perspectives of the Kharkiv Counteroffensive. The Latest Denys, shows a couple of options available to Ukraine for cutting off Izyum. There is now news that Ukrainian soldiers are on the outskirts of Kupiansk. The railroad, running south from Russia to Izyum, goes through Kupiansk.
This video, called “Reporting From Ukraine,” provides a more granular analysis of what is happening south of Kharkiv and on the Right Bank of the Dnieper River. It is well-worth watching.
This video, called Suchomimus, goes into more detail about the possible encirclement of Izyum.

Very interesting. It seems that the Russians can only really fight and win when they have overwhelming numerical superiority and artillery dominance. Faced with a more equal foe, they find it very hard to cope. The Kremlin must be getting nervous, I wonder how they will respond to battlefield reverses.
Does anyone else not think that what is actually happening in Ukraine is more to do with the systematic end to the fiat monetary financial system which was never resolved after 2008 crash and now accelerating fast with severe inflation and shortages etc. and where all globalists are actually working together to bring in the global central bank digital currency and a technocratic rule? The ordinary people are always sacrificed to gain control, whether through war, famine, weather manipulation etc. https://sagehana.substack.com/p/working-theory-great-reset-key-premises?utm_source=substack&utm_campaign=post_embed&utm_medium=web
