News From The Battlefield
There are two important points in this video, called “Reporting From Ukraine.” First, at around 1:45 into the video, there is a map showing the borders of the 4 Ukrainian oblasts where Russia wants to hold referenda. In each case the referenda are supposed to apply to the entire oblast. The borders of each oblast are outlined in purple. The orange line shows the portion of each oblast controlled by Ukraine. Ukraine still controls around 50% of Donetsk Oblast, 1/3rd of Zhaporizhzhia Oblast, and almost none of Kherson and Luhansk Oblasts. However, in both Kherson and Luhansk Oblasts, Ukraine is launching counteroffensives, and there is increasing partisan activity in all 4 oblasts. Partisans will likely be targeting election workers and polling places. They’ve already attacked facilities where ballots were stored. I don’t understand his theory about the ability of Russia to release more troops into Ukraine, especially given the reaction to the call-up in many Russia cities.
The second point, also covered in the Latest Denys, is the situation around Lyman, in Luhansk Oblast. Since Russia captured Lyman late last Spring, it has been a major re-supply area for Russian operations in Donetsk, and there is still a large concentration of Russian troops in and around Lyman, troops who are now at risk of being surrounded.

The evil gnome in Moscow finally admitted he is losing on the ground, sees no prospects of winning there, and lacking a way out is back to lying and bluffing.
As always, the first lie was from the chorus. We want to join Russia was chanted in unison from occupied Ukrainian territories to Moscow’s television stages. Having set the scene, the gnome appears, and in a tremulous soprano, sings, “Come home children, and I will protect you with my brand-new army of gnomes armed with nuclear weapons”.
Really? You can raise a new army the world asks? Do you think to scare us with your bombs?
