Street Repair
In most Ukrainian cities the craters in the streets, resulting from Russian missile strikes last Monday, have all been repaired. As far as I know, it was done without the use of Russian prisoners of war.
News From the Battlefield
According to the latest “Reporting From Ukraine,” in Kherson Oblast another advance by Ukrainian forces seems to be imminent.
The Latest Denys focuses mostly on Kharkiv/Luhansk, in the north. I still think that Russian forces attacking in Donetsk, mostly the Wagner Group, may be at risk of being attacked by Ukrainians from behind. It is unclear to me why Wagner continues to throw men and equipment at well-entrenched Ukrainians, rather than helping their compatriots to the north who are getting forced back. A possible reason is lack of coordination and rivalry between what amounts to 2 separate armies, the regular Russian Army and the Wagner Group.
Denys also mentions Ukraine’s border with Belarus. According to both Denys and the Institute for the Study of War included in the Sitrep, Belarus is transferring much of their ammunition and equipment to Russia. This would seem to make invasion from the north unlikely, but some Ukrainians units are being transferred to the north, “just in case.” What is not being reported is that Belarusian partisans are doing a very effective job in blowing up rail lines inside Belarus.

· At the level of the entire "Group of Seven" and our entire democratic world, we must respond symmetrically: when Russia attacks the energy sector and the energy stability of our countries, it is necessary to block its energy sector with sanctions sector, to break the stability of Russian revenues from the oil and gas trade. We need a tight price ceiling for oil and gas exports from Russia – zero profits for a terrorist state.
· We must also recognize the obvious fact: there can be no dialogue with this Russian leader who has no future. Conversations can be either with another Russian leader – who will recognize the UN Charter, the basic principles of humanity and the territorial integrity of Ukraine – or in another configuration so that a key terrorist does not have the opportunity to influence key decisions through terror. Now one person is blocking peace – and this man is in Moscow.
