U.S. July 4th Celebrations
Over the years it has become common practice to play Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” often accompanied by cannons, prior to the beginning of the fireworks. This year, several cities decided not to play the “1812 Overture” because Tchaikovsky is Russian.
At least 2 cities decided to continue playing the “1812 Overture,” Boston and Washington, DC. It is understandable why both cities made the decision that they did. This is the first year since the start of the Pandemic that crowds have been allowed, on the Esplanade in the case of Boson, and around the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument in the case of Washington, D.C.
A “Gold Star” goes to Boston, for the Boston Pops Orchestra and the Tanglewood Chorus playing a rousing rendition of the National Anthem of Ukraine, prior to the playing of the 1812 Overture. I hope I am wrong, but after checking the replay to make sure, a “Raspberry” is awarded to Washington, D.C. for playing the 1812 Overture without any recognition of Ukraine and its people, through the playing of the National Anthem of Ukraine or otherwise. For those who are unaware, “Blowing a Raspberry is to make a noise similar to flatulence, that may signify derision, real or feigned.” Expect a rendition of the “Capitol 4th” 1812 Overture played by most Russian propaganda outlets.

Two interviews, the first with British Major General Rupert Jones discussing Ukraine’s prospects in the war. The second, with British Major General Tim Cross answering the question, “Can Russia take all of Ukraine? Cross estimates that Russia is using 20,000 rounds of artillery, per day. General Cross stated that it is important that the talks on reconstruction, such as the one in Lugano yesterday, continue. He said it sends a message to Russia.
I would also reiterate what Lawrence Freedman said, that the NATO members have given Ukraine so much equipment, that the defeat of Ukraine will now be seen as a NATO defeat. In other words, NATO now has little choice but to keep doing what it takes to ensure Ukraine’s victory.

I don’t watch Lester Holt, so this comes second-hand. Last night I was speaking with an old friend of mine who does watch Lester Holt’s “ABC Nightly News.” She remarked that she was sorry that Ukraine is suffering reversals. Clearly, Holt is not reading the content we send out in these emails almost every day since the start of the war.
Even given Russia’s advantage in artillery, which may be about to end given the arrival of weapons from the West, it has taken Russia two months to take Svieriodonetsk and Lysychansk. To go further into Donetsk Oblast Russia will have to reduce and capture 2 major cities, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, where Ukraine has had the opportunity to build up substantial defense lines. In addition, based on evidence from Denys’ maps showing Ukrainian artillery impacts, Russia is going to have to deal with improved Ukrainian artillery capabilities that, even now, are starting to take out Russian ammunition dumps. Without 20,000 rounds/day, how is Russia going to continue its advance?
Neither Lester Holt, nor most other American media outlets, pay much attention to what is happening in the South, where Ukraine is making gains and, through using long-range artillery to hit Russian installations far from Ukrainian lines. Two examples are Ukraine’s re-taking of Snake Island and the destruction of Russia’s base near Melitopol.
All this is not surprising, given that these are the same people who were predicting that Kyiv would fall in 5 days. American media outlets have gotten into the habit of sticking with a narrative, even after it becomes clear that their narrative is wrong.

McDonald’s has suspended their activities throughout Kazakhstan "due to technical reasons”. Local media suggest that difficulties for Kazakhstan’s McDonald’s have arisen due to the departure of the official supplier from the Russian market, where Kazakhstan received raw materials.
Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation: The purpose of the special operation is to achieve Ukraine's neutral status and free the population of the people’s republics from the Ukrainian nationalists.
British Prime Minister: Wales and Scotland allocated 100 million pounds for military aid to Ukraine.
Ukrainian Air Force: Putin's entourage has been in quarantine for about two years with constant isolation and medical tests. Putin's pilots and doctors are regularly in isolation, and to get into quarantine, you need to pass a blood test for antibodies to the coronavirus two days in advance. ● After Ukraine's victory in the war, Switzerland will invest in the implementation of Ukrainian public and private climate projects "green" recovery.
