Webinar – One Year Anniversary of Ukraine’s Predicted Surrender
Webinar
Celebration of the 1-Year Anniversary of Ukraine’s Predicted Demise
February 28, 2023, at 1PM Eastern Standard Time (6PM in London, 8PM in Kyiv, and 10AM in San Francisco)
Russian President Putin and many Western pundits predicted with certainty that Ukraine would capitulate after no more 5 days of Russia’s most recent invasion of Ukraine. Instead of marking the 1-year anniversary of the start of Russia’s latest invasion, on February 24th, as many others are doing, we decided to do something different. We’re marking the 1-year anniversary of the day of Ukraine’s expected capitulation on February 28th, 5 days after the start of Russia’s most recent invasion.
The webinar will be conducted on Zoom. The Zoom link is here. The Zoom meeting ID is - 830 1184 0497, and the Zoom passcode: 449343. If you’re dialing in, you may need the meeting ID and passcode to join the meeting. Please feel free to share the link.
Panelists will be the 2 authors of the emails that you’ve been getting almost daily since February 24, 2022. The Moderator will be Larysa Homans, executive coach, mentor, former member of the Faculty of Kyiv Mohilya Business School, experienced moderator and, in the interest of full disclosure, the wife of one of the authors. We will both make short introductory statements, the Moderator will then ask both of us a few questions, and then we will open the floor to questions.
We want to do what little we can to bring as much attention as possible to honor the brave heroes of Ukraine. “Brave heroes” consists not just of soldiers of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, but all Ukrainians, and all Ukraine’s partners, including countries supplying weapons, and private groups and individuals who provide humanitarian assistance, who together proved President Putin and all the pundits wrong. Finally, all of you, our loyal readers – we reveal out identities and answer questions.
We greatly appreciate your loyalty and support. We look forward to your participation.
Slava Ukrainii!!!
News From the Battlefield
I was driving back to my office today, when I heard a professor from Brown University say, on “Bloomberg Surveillance,” that the West needs to be careful about supplying weapons to Ukraine, because if Ukraine loses all the weapons will fall into Russian hands. I nearly drove off the road. This is an example of a narrative that has been popular since the beginning of the war, framing the military situation in Ukraine using the Russian narrative.
For example, most of the media and the pundits continue to refer to “Russian advances in the east.” I don’t see any Russian advances in the east, and neither does “Reporting From Ukraine” nor “The Latest Denys.” The former focuses on Ukrainian rocket attacks in the South near the land entrance to Crimea, against Russia troop concentrations and convoys and ammunition storage facilities, including one that Russia is using to launch Iranian drones. The latter covers some Ukrainian gains south of Bakhmut City that will make it more difficult for Russia to complete their objective of taking Bakhmut by the end of March. Where are the Russian advances?
