Strike on the Antonivka Bridge
Earlier today there was reportedly a Ukrainian strike against the Antonivka road bridge, crossing the Dnieper River near Kherson. Apparently, the strike took place at a time when 10 Russian “Kamaz” supply trucks loaded with ammunition were crossing the bridge.
According to reports one of the spans collapsed. The Antonivka Bridge has been attacked several times with HIMARS, but never destroyed. The amount of TNT in a HIMARS warhead isn’t sufficient to bring down the bridge. Today, Ukraine may have gotten an assist from 10 Russian trucks loaded with ammunition. Some reports I have seen said it was a Ukrainian airstrike; others, including this one, said it was HIMARS.
In either case, if confirmed the destruction of the Antonivka Bridge vastly increases Russia’s logistical problem to supply approximately 2 divisions of Russian troops reportedly operating on the Right Bank of the Dnieper. The railroad bridge has already been destroyed. The road/rail bridge at the Nova Kahovka Dam has been damaged, at a point where it crosses a ship channel to not damage the dam, and it is under continual Ukrainian attack. Instead of the Antonivka Bridge, Russians must use makeshift ferries. Pontoon bridges are impractical, because of the width of the Dnieper River at this point and because of the swift current.
It should be remembered that back at the end of March, Russia quickly withdrew its forces from around Kyiv, primarily because of Ukrainian attacks against its logistics, rather than launching a counteroffensive. It seems that Ukraine is hoping for the same result on the Right Bank of the Dnieper. Perhaps this is one reason why we haven’t seen the oft-promised Ukrainian counteroffensive. Ukraine is waiting for the effects of the destruction of the bridges, combined with the strikes against the Crimean airbases, to have their effect.

Russian Invasion of Ukraine 12:00 noon August 21 to 12:00 noon August 22, 2022
After six months the unanswered question is: who is responsible? Is it Putin and crew or is it the Russians?
When the war started, boycotts of pro war Russians began in the west. Now that it has dragged on for half a year Europeans, and others are considering banning all Russians from entering their domains.
Modern history says that it wasn’t just Hitler and his crew, but Germans that were responsible for the second world war. If history is right then the Russians are responsible, and should be held accountable including, but not limited to war crimes trials and sentencing.
However, what should we do about clear evidence that most Russians have been turned into Zombies and are incapable of independent volition? Even more reason to segregate them.
The above, about Putin and Russia is as is, but what of traitors, collaborators and quislings? Broad categories of people globally support Russia regardless of its genocidal campaign to destroy Ukraine. Are these people equally responsible to Putin and Russians?
In Ukraine the fate of Russian supporters is already clear. Arrest, trial and sentencing. In occupied areas outside of Ukrainian control, execution of the leaders. The real question is whether Ukraine will apply the same tactics that Russia is applying to Ukrainians in occupied territories.
Russia is conducting mass arrests of everyone, executing those loyal to Ukraine, robbing, terrorizing civilians, raping, maiming, deporting to concentration camps, press ganging and destroying everything connected with Ukraine - language, culture, symbols, institutions, etc.
Inevitably following Ukraine’s victory the urge for revenge will be strong. However, I expect that Ukraine will not repeat Russian atrocities and exhibit maturity and humanity that Russia lacks.
Justice will be meted out, and how and to what end, will be the defining moment of this war.

08:25 The U.S. Department of State posted a tweet from President Joe Biden :
● “Thanks to the courage and bravery of the Ukrainian people, the equipment we’ve sent, and our colleagues have sent have been used to devastating effect to defend Ukrainian land and airspace. If you don't stand up to dictators, history has shown us they keep coming.”
00:46 Mirror: British military says UK soldiers must be prepared to fight Russia and warn loved ones of potential conflict.
● Warrant Officer Paul Carney wrote in Soldier magazine: "I ask that you discuss the potential rollout with them now. Find support network numbers and relevant people who can help them, such as a welfare officer and a clergyman. This is very important as we may be out of touch for a long time "Make sure our loved ones get the support they need is also vital to us as we're not going to give 100% on tour if we're worried about home,"
● Former Chief of the General Staff of the British Armed Forces, General Richard Dannatt, considers this advice timely.
○ "This is prudent advice from the best soldier in the army. This does not mean that the army is about to go to Ukraine, but the duty of any army in peacetime is to prepare for war in all aspects of life. However, given the war in Europe, it is quite reasonable, that British soldiers are realistic about what could happen," the general said.

● Scholz told the President of the Russian Federation that "Ukraine will not join the alliance in the next 30 years." He believes that the war began for "completely absurd reasons.”
● Not to Putin. As far as attacking Ukraine is concerned, for Putin NATO was and is a smokescreen. Chancellor Scholz basically tried to give away something, namely Ukraine’s NATO membership, that wasn’t something that Scholz was able to promise and, more importantly, the question of Ukraine’s NATO membership, at least according to Putin, wasn’t part of Putin’s reason for starting the war. Regardless, Zelenskyy had already taken Ukraine’s NATO membership off the table. It didn’t matter. Putin’s reason for starting the war was to wipe Ukraine, and Ukrainians, off the map. It’s time Chancellor Scholz, and many others, start listening to Putin, and reading what he says. Like many other dictators, Putin has been very clear about his intentions.
