I've got to wonder if the Russians have some sort of kompromat on Tucker, because he's either incredibly stupid and ignorant about history, or he's willingly repeating Russian propaganda. I've said in the past that you don't have to waste time listening to Tucker, MacGregor, Mercouris and the rest of the Duran crew, you just have to go to the Russian Foreign Ministry webpage, and you'll get it all, chapter and verse, right there. Tucker's father worked for the CIA and I think there's big conflict between them, so this could be a reason for what Tucker is doing - it's childish rebellion against his father. If the Russians could find out about this, they'd use it - and I'll bet that that's precisely the case.

Now, there's no question that the US intel community has allowed itself to become politicized, and has certain deep biases, which has been a disaster in its analysis - just as happened with Putin's Fifth Directorate, when they told him what they thought he wanted to hear, instead of the truth - resulting in his horrible clusterf*ck of the Ukraine invasion. Putin's ego investment - and the "sunk cost" fallacy - and the fecklessness of the Western response and Putin's opportunism - has led to the current situation. The US intel community needs to be reminded that its mission is to find facts and tell the truth, and that's the sum of it, not run clandestine guerilla warfare operations, or sponsor armies, or engage in military operations. We have Special Forces for that sort of thing, it's not a mission for a civilian intel community.

"The Crimeans have never had a voice. The Tatars certainly did not want Russia. They experienced decades of repression under Russia." Not only repression, but resettlement and replacement with ethnic Russians under Stalin - about 90% of the indigenous Tatar population was removed from Crimea in the 1940s and 1950s...

More points, but for later on....

Tucker is a deep state cut-out, apparently in this case for Russia. If you want a really insightful interview, Joe Rogan's interview of Mike Benz is the best Rogan show ever. It really puts all the deep state pieces together. I'd be interested in your annotation of the Ukrainian bits of the interview (and others).
